Tab Pad is a Chrome extension that replaces your new-tab page with a daily notepad.
Nothing. Tab Pad has no server, no account system, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. It requests zero browser permissions.
Everything you write is stored locally in your browser's storage (IndexedDB), on your device, under your browser profile. Your notes are never transmitted to us or to any third party.
If you enable the optional folder mirror, Tab Pad writes your notes as plain-text Markdown files to a folder on your computer that you explicitly choose via the browser's file picker. This is also entirely local.
The export feature saves a JSON file of your notes to your computer, at your request.
Tab Pad makes no network requests. A content-security policy in the extension additionally blocks pages from loading remote images, so note content cannot trigger requests to external servers.
Uninstalling the extension removes its browser storage. Files created by the folder mirror or export remain on your computer under your control.
If this policy ever changes (for example, if a sync feature is added), the change will be reflected here and in the extension's store listing before it takes effect.
